English Speech and Debate Competition: Fostering Excellence in Public Speaking
Our institution is committed to providing students with a nurturing and competitively vibrant environment, conducive to holistic growth across various activities. It is with this objective in mind that our school organizes events which empower students to realize their potential and prepare them for the challenges of the outside world.
Empowering Young Minds through Debating and Speech Making
This year, we were proud to host the English Speech and Debate Competition for students of classes 6 to 8. The event was designed to bolster their self-confidence and broaden their perspectives. Participating in this competition offered students a plethora of opportunities to hone their public speaking skills, engage in critical thinking, unleash their creativity, and embrace collaboration.
Learning Outcomes and Achievements
The competitors not only developed a profound connection with language and ideas but also mastered a crucial life skill: maintaining composure and positivity in adversity. Through this competition, students learned to employ various methods of knowledge acquisition, creativity, and synthesis of complex information.
Event Overview: Speech and Debate Competition
The competition took place in the school hall, graced by the esteemed presence of our Principal Sr. Akhtar, respected Vice Principal Mrs. Noreen Silas, dedicated teachers, and enthusiastic students from classes 6, 7, and 8. The event showcased the oratory skills and intellectual ability of our talented students, providing a platform for them to express their thoughts and perspectives on diverse topics.
Class 6 Speech Competition
The topic chosen for the class 6 students was “Video games should be banned”. Two students from each section participated in the competition, and the internal judges for this category were Mrs. Irene Pervaiz and Ms. Mehwish Ilays.
Class 7 Speech Competition
For class 7, the topic “Climate change is the greatest threat humanity facing” was deliberated upon. Six students participated, with two representatives from each section. The internal judges for this category were Mrs. Mahjabeen and Ms. Sumble Qamar.
Class 8 Debate Competition
The Class 8 students were assigned the topic: “Juveniles should be Tried and Treated as Adults”. The competition drew participants from all 3 sections, with two students representing each. Ms. Syeda Pakeezah Hashmi presided as the external judge for the debate competition for class 8, alongside internal judges Mrs. Noor us Sabah and Ms. Neha Munir.
The presence of these eminent judges added a significant dimension to the event.

The competition yielded outstanding performances, with students demonstrating exceptional oratory skills and insightful perspectives. Notable achievements were recognized, with the following students securing top positions:

These accomplished individuals were honored with certificates, acknowledging their dedication, hard work, and exceptional talent. Additionally, all participants received certificates of participation, promoting a spirit of inclusivity and encouraging their continued participation and growth.
The competition witnessed remarkable presentations, with each participant contributing to the event’s success through their eloquence, critical thinking, and expressive abilities. The occasion served as a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing and celebrating the intellectual and oratorical prowess of its students.
The program reached its apex with the rendition of the national anthem, marking the conclusion of an event that was not only a competition but a celebration of the eloquence, and resilience of our students.
