St. Anne’s Block Inauguration and Blessing Ceremony

 On August 31, 2024, our school celebrated a significant milestone with the blessing ceremony of the newly renovated St. Anne’s block. This event marked a new chapter in our school’s history, reflecting our commitment to providing a modern and inspiring learning environment.  The ceremony began with a solemn mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral, officiated by His Excellency Archbishop Dr. Joseph Arshad. Our honorable Principal, Sister Akhtar Buta, opened the proceedings with a heartfelt introduction, recounting the school’s journey since its founding in 1895.

Following the mass, a dignified procession commenced, comprising esteemed members of the school community, including Sister Riffat Sadiq, Unit Leader of Presentation Sisters Pakistan, members of the Unit Leadership Team, Sister Shahnaz Barkat and Sister Teresa Yonus, His Excellency Archbishop Dr. Joseph Arshad, honorable Parish Priests, respected Catechists, revered Sister Monica Sadiq and Sister Bridie, esteemed Sisters from other congregations, and respected Novices. Upon arrival, they were warmly welcomed by Principal Sister Akhtar Buta, Vice Principal Mrs. Noreen Silas, coordinators Mrs. Saira Adeel, Mrs. Ashi Javed, and Mrs. Charlotte Bakhshi, as well as students from classes six to matric and staff members. The school band, skillfully directed by Mrs. Hira, and the melodious choir, expertly led by Sir Amir, added to the ceremony’s grandeur, making it a truly memorable occasion..

The highlight of the ceremony was the ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the plaque, performed by His Excellency Archbishop Dr Joseph Arshad, symbolizing a moment of pride and gratitude for our school community. Guests were then invited to officially bless the newly renovated block, featuring modern amenities such as marble flooring, LED lighting, and fans.

In a gathering at the school hall, tokens of gratitude and appreciation were presented by our worthy Principal to:

  • His Excellency Archbishop Dr. Joseph Arshad, who received a token of respect and gratitude for holding a special Mass on this auspicious occasion and blessing the building.
  • Riffat Sadiq, who received a token of appreciation for her invaluable support and approval.
  • Shahnaz Barkat, who received acknowledgment of gratitude for her contributions to the project.
  • Teresa Yonus and Sr. Nargus Saleem, who received expressions of thanks for their dedication and hard work.
  • Rizwan S. Shah, contractor, who received an award of appreciation for his relentless dedication and support in completing the project.

Our honorable Vice Principal Mrs. Noreen Silas on behalf of the Principal and staff concluded the event with a note of thanks. The day ended on a high note with tea served to guests and teachers, and sweets distributed among the students, ensuring it was a memorable occasion for all involved.  This ceremony not only celebrated the completion of a significant project but also reinforced our school’s commitment to excellence in education and community spirit.
