Peace Festival Competition 2025: A Resounding Success
On November 21, 2025 — St. Joseph Catholic Cathedral in Lalkurti was the esteemed venue for the annual Peace Festival Competition, a vibrant celebration of talent, intellect, and spiritual engagement. The event brought together students from several distinguished institutions: St. Catherine’s Convent High School, St. Mary’s Academy for Girls, St. Mary’s Academy for Boys, St. Joseph School, and our own Presentation Convent High School.
This annual festival is a cherished tradition aimed at fostering unity, moral values, and interfaith harmony among the youth of the community. It provides a vital platform for our students to engage in a range of co-curricular and religious activities, promoting holistic development beyond academics.
The day commenced with an inspiring welcome performance presented jointly by students from St. Catherine’s and our school, setting a harmonious tone for the events that followed.
The competition segment then began, featuring several challenging categories designed to test students’ knowledge and public speaking skills. Competitions were held in Bible reading, a comprehensive general quiz from the Bible, and speech competitions.
Our students demonstrated exceptional prowess across various categories, securing top honours:
In the Quiz Competition, the team comprising Mazbah Yasir and Eshal Akashi achieved a commendable 3rd position.
In the Speech Competition, Angela Qamar secured the 3rd position.
Zunaira Illyas excelled in the Bible Reading event, securing the 1st position.
Following the intense competitions, the atmosphere shifted to one of entertainment and spiritual reflection. A captivating magic show provided a moment of wonder and delight for all attendees. This was followed by singers from the church, who enriched the festival by singing several uplifting hymns.
The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Archbishop Dr. Joseph Arshad, who served as the esteemed chief guest. His Excellency honoured our victorious students and commended all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and commitment to the values of peace and harmony.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated teachers whose tireless efforts and rigorous training prepared our students for this success. Furthermore, we express our deep appreciation to our respected Principal for providing these invaluable opportunities for our students to engage in religious and co-curricular activities, fostering holistic development.
